An electric utility located in the southwestern part of the United States was interested in integrating all of its existing electric vehicle (EV) initiatives into a comprehensive 5-year strategic roadmap. The client wanted to establish a vision, mission, and goals for the future as well as an implementation roadmap to deliver on its vision.
Guidehouse partnered with the utility to create a current initiative inventory, including all EV-related activities underway within the utility. We interviewed key external stakeholders to ascertain activities, interests, and EV- and sustainability-related goals. Next, our team facilitated a shared vision development activity with the utility's senior leadership to establish a longer-term vision and related 5-year goals. We also facilitated a future initiative identification and prioritization activity using Guidehouse’s subject matter experts to create an inventory of possible EV program initiatives. Using key findings from our engagement, we developed an integrated EV strategic roadmap.
The utility’s area vice president presented the EV strategic roadmap and received C-suite executive approval. The client is now using the roadmap to communicate on the utility’s EV vision and goals, both internally and externally.
The client published an external version of the roadmap as a part of the Arizona Statewide Transportation Electrification Plan, read it here.
